Gospel Brunch with Cracker Box Gospel Band

photo 3

Cracker Box Gospel Band brings you a funky dance party for your soul. This five-piece band of long-time Austin musicians draws on traditional gospel music as well as the uplifting funk and R&B of the 70s (think Earth Wind & Fire, The Isley Brothers and more). The much beloved “Hippie Church” scene at Maria’s Taco Xpress is a slice of idyllic old South Austin — everybody’s dancing, kiddos and adults included, fueled by Maria’s incredibly delicious tacos. Come early to get a table outside and beat the line at the counter. You won’t be sorry!

  1. Just an update – Cracker Box Gospel Band plays every first Sunday at Javelina Bar on Rainey Street, and every second Sunday at Maria’s Taco Express.

Both venues are kid-friendly and have outdoor space to enjoy the weather. We always bring along kid-sized shakers and tambourines so the little ones can dance and play along. Thanks!
