Review and Giveaway: Airzooka

The Airzooka– it’s a blast! Literally. It’s a cone-shaped gun that, when the trigger is pulled and released, shoots out a blast of air up to 15 feet away. Fun for kids, adults, and I think our dogs and cats even enjoy it now that they’ve gotten used to it.

The Airzooka comes to us courtesy of Terra Toys. They released their Top Ten Toys list last week. We are lucky enough here at Livemom to try out some of the toys and let you all know what we think! I got the Airzooka, which is #10 on their list, close to Halloween and left it sitting out, as I usually do with items that I review, on the counter for our friends to play with. We happened to have a bunch of friends over for a Halloween party and the toy had lots of testing done on it that day! In fact, one of our friends (he’s a grown man) knew all about the Airzooka. He tearfully shared a sad story about how he had to get rid of it- in fact, all of his fun stuff- after he got married! Poor guy. At least he knows where to come now to get the Airzooka fix out of his system.
AdvertisementMy twelve year old son is big into airsofting right now so I thought this air gun would be a hit with him, and I was right. It’s perfect for his age because: there are no pieces to lose (he loses everything) since it just shoots air, it’s a bit difficult for his little sister (she’s three) to pull the trigger so he doesn’t have to worry about her stealing it away, and it’s fun (and quite harmless) to mess with unsuspecting people and animals, which feeds his mischief streak.

Now, I will say that it’s scary, even now after being shot many, many times, to be the one waiting to be shot. Even knowing it doesn’t hurt, I still feel this ball of  anxiety while waiting for the blast of air to come my way! It’s also bit difficult to put together if you aren’t skilled in that toy-putting-together way like me. Luckily, my husband was here to handle that part. By the way, he’s a brilliant engineer who can fix anything and he even complained a bit about the task of putting it together. Terra Toys is more than happy to put them together for you in case you aren’t up for the challenge. I definitely don’t recommend trying to put it together after drinking a couple glasses of wine, but it’s certainly fun to shoot after wining it up.  I’m thinking it might be fun to have an Airzooka war for a mom’s night out…. wine, Airzookas… yeah, we’re crazy like that over here.

If you’d like to try one out, leave us a comment! Terra Toys is giving an Airzooka away to one lucky Livemom reader! Leave a comment here by Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at midnight for your chance to win. We will pick a random winner using random.org and will notify the winner via email who will then have 24 hours to respond to our email. Happy Airzookaing!

  1. Cool! I’m sure my hubby would love to play with this! He is getting tired of tea parties and playing princess with his three girls!
