Heartsong Music at Austin Children’s Museum- Monday, August 26 at 10am. Heartsong Music will be visiting during Baby Bloomers to teach Music Together, the internationally recognized early childhood music and movement program for young children (age 7 and under) and the adults who love them! Heartsong seeks to create a community of music-makers with excellent teachers, materials, and resources in a developmentally appropriate, engaging, fun, and participatory environment that nurtures music development. Armstrong Community School Storytime- Monday, August 26 at 12:30pm (at Laura’s Library, 9411 Bee Cave Road), Tuesday, August 27 and Wednesday, August 28 at 10:30am (at Westbank Library, 1309 Westbank Drive, Austin). Bring your preschoolers ages 0-5 to a very special Musical Storytime presented by The Armstrong Community Music School.

Interactive Storytime- Tuesday, August 27 from 10-11am. Every Tuesday our interactive story time gets little ones moving. WIC Pregnancy and Breastfeeding Fair- Tuesday, August 27 from 1:30- 4:30pm. WIC staff and community partners will provide information on breastfeeding, the WIC breast pump program, how to continue breastfeeding when you return to work or school, and Texas laws which support breastfeeding. Community partners such as The Milk Bank, Any Baby Can and others will also offer information about their services. You can play games and win prizes! Baby Signs Meetup Group- Tuesday, August 27 at 2pm. Baby signs meetup group with Tina Cavanaugh. Baby Sign & Play Classes provide an interactive learning session for child and parent to begin the path to learn basic sign language communication skills. Sound & Cinema: Back to the Future - Wednesday, August 28. Food trailers will be open at 7 p.m. The FREE sunset concert with Hello Wheels, playing hits from the 1950s and 1980s, will begin at 8 p.m., followed by the FREE screening of Back to the Future after dark. Austin Children’s Museum Community Night - Wednesday, August 28 from 5 – 8 p.m. This is the final week to visit Austin Children’s Museum before the doors close on the downtown location on September 1. The Museum will evolve into the Thinkery and reopen at an all-new 40,000 square-foot facility at Mueller on December 7, 2013. Unplugged at the Grove – Thursday, August 29 at 8pm. FREE!! Join KGSR every Thursday for 24 consecutive weeks at Shady Grove on Barton Springs Road for one of Austin’s longest running free concert series. Dance and Movement Therapy for Kids- Friday, August 30 at 10:30am.Movement is the language that children use from birth. Utilizing dance and movement therapy with children gives them an instinctual tool to express their thoughts and feelings. DMT is applicable for children of all ages, all physical and mental functioning levels, and all diagnoses. By entering into their world, “trying on” their movement, and allowing them to express themselves freely, without judgment, children feel more seen, heard and understood, boosting their confidence and sense of self. This session will include a warm-up, active engagement, and cool down or closure period. Creative movement, dance/play, music, American Sign Language, and other creative arts are utilized to cater to your child’s preferred method of expression. FREE!! Toddlertime with Music Together, Music Forever- Friday, August 30 from 10:30- 11am. This session will be geared specifically for children ages 18 – 36 months.
