Pancho Rabbit and the Coyote– Saturday, February 7 at 11 a.m. and Sunday, February 8 at 2 p.m. Pancho Rabbit meets danger at every stage of his journey to find his missing Papá, but the greatest danger of all is his untrustworthy guide. Kids will be inspired and cautioned by this resonant and powerful story. Live music and imaginative scenes fill the Scottish Rite Theater stage. Curricular materials created by master teacher Caroline Sweet are available to teachers. Recommended for K-5th Grade. Valentine Tie-Dye Workshop at Art Garage- 3-7 p.m. Create an awesome Heart T-shirt. All the pinks, reds and purples you need to create a perfect Valentine shirt will be available. Instructors will be there to help with new techniques taught each time. Cost: $16 per shirt, includes all materials and instructions. Texas Wildlife Day– Museum exhibits open 9 am to 5 pm and the activities run from 10 am until 4 pm. Celebrate everything feathered, furred, smooth and scaled at Texas Memorial Museum! FREE admission and FREE family-friendly activities hosted by TMM science educators and members of the Capital Area and Good Water chapters of Texas Master Naturalists. Activities include: Explore Butterfly Metamorphosis, I Toad You We’re Not Frogs!, Identify Skulls and Skins, We Love Bats!, Badger Basics: Texas Tough, Sometimes Gruff!, and Make a Pine Cone Bird Feeder. Kids’ Workshop: Build a Heart Box (RSVP) – 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Children ages 5-12 will build a Heart Box at this workshop designed to teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety. All kids go home with their craft, a certificate of achievement, a workshop apron, and a sense of pride and accomplishment. One workshop kit and apron per child, while supplies last. FREE but you must reserve your child’s spot here. Your local Home Depot store.

Michael’s Kids Club: String Art Heart– 10 a.m. – noon. Drop in and take home a completed project. Cost:  $2 per child for 30 minutes of creative craft fun. Ages 3 and up. All participating Michael’s locations.

Bright Horizons at Bee Cave Grand Opening Celebration– 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Photo opportunity with the Snow Queen, live music from Mr. Will and Joe McDermott, children’s activities, face painting, raffle prizes, refreshments, and more! Kite Making Workshop– 1-3 p.m. Throughout the month of February, the Parks and Recreation Department will host a series of FREE hands-on workshops to teach children how to make and fly their very own kites–which they can enter in the Kite Competition at the Kite Festival on March 1st. Carver Museum Book Club– 3-4 p.m. Mommy, Daddy, and Me is a parent and children book club led by Yolanda King, mom and local children’s book author.  This offering will encourage children in the 1st – 3rd grades to read with their parents and discuss works with others. 2nd Annual Hooked on Mueller- 10 a.m. – noon. The 2nd Annual Hooked on Mueller event invites everyone to come to Lake Park and catch one of the 2,000 rainbow trout that will be stocked by Texas Parks and Wildlife. Travisso’s Beyond Big Sales Event (Leander) Noon. 20,000 pounds of snow for sledding, building snowmen and having a good, old-fashioned snowball fight will kick off three weekends of fun at Travisso. Kid’s Valentine Making Workshop– 12:30- 2 p.m. So many Valentines, so little time!
