Need some place for your kids to during the upcoming holidays? Here are some camps we’ve heard about (register early, as we can’t guarantee how long spots will remain):

Thanksgiving Break Day Camps at Marmalade Skies – November 24-25

Marmalade Skies is offering 2 day camp opportunities over the Thanksgiving holiday break for elementary-aged children 5-12 years old. We’ll be making some lovely Thanksgiving and fall themed crafts as well as beautiful fine art projects. Our wonderfully knowledgeable instructors will guide kiddos and nurture their love of art all while keeping it FUN! Register on Eventbrite.

Thanksgiving Art Sampler Camp for Ages 3-10 at Art & Soul – November 26 & 29

Children will be inspired by Great Artists and learn about different painting and drawing techniques at these camps, hosted by Art & Soul. Students will use tempera paint, oil pastels, watercolor paint, markers, and clay to recreate masterpieces such as Van Gogh, Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Georgia O’Keeffe, Paul Klee, and many more! Full, half day and one day options available.

Frozen Fun Art Sampler Camp – December 22-26 (no camp Christmas Day) and December 29 – January 2

Come experience the magic of winter in a creative way! A fun filled Art camp inspired by the movie that will entertain and delight your child. They will love creating snow-globes, clay sculptures, sparkly castle scenes and more all featuring their favorite characters. The kids will get to work with a variety of different art supplies as they create masterpieces!  

Holiday Art Camps at The Art Garage – December 13, 20,  22-23, 29-30

Kids can enjoy creating crafts through various projects. Some camps are one day, while others have the option of one or two days. Projects include pottery, glass fusion, canvas painting, ornament making and crafts from around the world. Call (512) 852-9900 to register.

McCallum Cheer 2014 Winter Camp – December 19

Kids in kindergarten through 7th grades can attend a camp filled with holiday fun and entertainment, hosted by the McCallum cheerleaders. Register on Eventbrite.

Kids Farmer for a Day Camp – December 19

Spend a day helping and exploring at Green Gate Farms. Children get to assist farmers in the fields and tend to livestock, then play and explore.

Austin Nature and Science Center – December 22 & 23

The Austin Nature and Science Center offers two day camps for children on December 22nd and 23rd. Different camps are offered for 5-6 year-olds, 7-8 year-olds and 9-11 year-olds. For more information and to register, visit the ANSC website or call (512) 974-3888.

Smudge Studios Drop & Shop Mini Camps – December 22 & 23

Spend the day making and wrapping a unique one of a kind handmade gift for someone special this holiday season. Holiday cookies included!

Champions Westlake Holiday Camps – December 22 & 23, 29 & 30

Champions Westlake Gymnastics & Cheer offers two holiday camps with two different age groups (ages 2-7 and 8-11 years old). Register by calling (512) 426-1990.

Phoenix Aviation – December 22, 23, 29, 30, 31 & January 2

These full day camps are for children ages 5-10 years old and deal with science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Register online.

Fantastic Magic Winter Break Camp- December 29 – January 2
AdvertisementThe camp will have all of the fun and excitement of their two-week summer sessions packed into one amazing week. Magic, juggling, puppets, special theme days, live shows, improvisational comedy, stories, and carnival games will all be a part of this great week of camp. For ages 5 and up. Register online here.

Winter Break Camps at Contemporary Austin – Laguna Gloria – December 29 – January 2 (no camp on January 1)

Choose from morning and afternoon classes. Camps serve children ages 4-14. Choose from Art Sampler (ages 4-5), Young Clay Artists (ages 4-5), Budding Artists (ages 6-8), Clay (ages 6-8), Drawing (ages 6-8, 9-11 and 12-14) and Wheel Throwing (ages 12-14).

Camp Doublecreek – December 29-31

Camp Doublecreek is located in Round Rock, Texas, but offers shuttle service from 13 pickup points around the city. For more information and to register, check out the camp’s website.

Winter Break Camps at Zach – December 29 – January 2 (no camp on January 1)

These week-long camps culminate in a demonstration of the skills learned and stories created! Kindergarten and first graders will explore a different view of The Three Little Pigs each day. Second and third graders work together to create their own tail-curling version of The Three Little Pigs. Third through fifth graders can take an Intro to Musical Theater class, where participants will put together a routine from Peter Pan. Children in fourth through sixth grades will spend half the day with an acting coach and the other half of the day tackling scenes from Zach’s upcoming production of Peter and the Starcatcher.

SpeedyDemons Kids Christmas Camp – December 29 – January 2

Geared towards ages 7-15 and taking place from 9-11am on the Austin High Track, this camp includes soccer, handball, endurance, speed, strength, polymetric drills and more. The camp is led by 8-time NCAA Champ and All-American Bernard Manirakiza. Register in person at 1379 Sports or online.  Sibling discount available.

Business Boot Camp for Teens – December 29-31

Why stay at home throughout winter break?  This 3 Day hands-on experience will take your teen from curious to entrepreneur, and ready for Moolah U’s Apprentice Training Program. During this intensive camp experience, your teen (ages 12 and up) will start a business, earn money, learn about using money wisely, and gaining professional skills in leadership and personal accountability.
